Foundation for Contemporary Arts Chooses New CD Wright Award Recipient:
”This endowed annual award was established in 2017 with a gift from Ellsworth Kelly (1923-2015) and Jack Shear in memory of the poet, who died in 2016 at the age of 67. C.D. Wright was herself a 1999 recipient of a Grants to Artists award. The award is made annually through Grants to Artists to a poet over the age of 50 whose work exemplifies Wright's vibrant lyricism, seriousness, and striking originality.”
The Annual CD Wright Women’s Writers Conference
“The mission of the C.D. Wright Women Writers Conference is to recognize, promote, and encourage women-identifying writers with special emphasis given to writing inspired by or written in the south. Keynote presentations, panel discussions, craft talks, publishing advice, readings, a book fair, and workshops led by contemporary authors provide a venue for participants to explore opportunities, challenges, and trends specific to women writers. The conference seeks to offer writers a space to gather for inspiration, further education, support, and networking.”

“An exclusive look inside Casting Deep Shade by C.D. Wright, published by Copper Canyon Press in February 2019. Casting Deep Shade began as a short essay about a single beech tree and evolved into a genre-defying, encyclopedic work of epic reach.”
